📈 Tokenomics

BANDIT is a community token on the Zano blockchain, given away for free in 2024 and never sold by the project. Every tool in Bandit City works without paying a cent. BANDIT exists for the fun parts: premium features, cosmetics, and status among bandits.

Supply, the true story​

  • Minted: 10,000,000 BANDIT in 2024, all of it offered free to Zano alias holders. No ICO, no pre-mine.
  • Claimed: OG aliases could claim 42,000 each, newly registered aliases 2,000 each, until the November 1, 2024 cutoff.
  • Burned at the cutoff: the 3,188,000 BANDIT that went unclaimed, burned on-chain in this transaction (October 31, 2024). Claims are closed for good.
  • Circulating: about 6,812,000 BANDIT. Verify it yourself on the explorer.
  • Is the supply capped? Not yet, and we won't pretend otherwise. The asset's on-chain maximum is 1,000,000,000 and its owner key is still active, which technically allows further emission. No emission has ever happened beyond the initial mint, and none is planned. We intend to permanently give up that ability, but doing it safely on Zano takes careful testing rather than a button press. When it's done, the transaction will be published right here. Until then, you won't see the words "final supply" on this site.

Every number above is checkable on-chain. That's the whole point of building on Zano.

How BANDIT is used​

All Bandit City tools are free. BANDIT's job is perks on top of them, in two ways:

Spend it. Premium features and cosmetics will cost BANDIT. When you spend BANDIT on a perk, the tokens go to a collection wallet and are destroyed after your perk is delivered. Spent means burned, with a public transaction to prove it.

Hold it. Some cosmetics and status tiers will unlock just by holding BANDIT in your connected wallet. Nothing is spent and nothing leaves your wallet. The site reads your balance through the Zano Companion extension, and only when you connect it.

Honest status: no premium perks are live yet. The first ones are being built, and each will be announced here when it works end to end. Until you see a perk announced on this page, there is nothing to spend BANDIT on in Bandit City, and nobody legitimate will ask you to send BANDIT for access. Perk prices will be set in BANDIT, not in dollars, and price changes get announced here first.

What BANDIT is not: an investment. The project doesn't sell BANDIT, doesn't quote a price for it, and doesn't promise it will be worth anything. If you want BANDIT, get it from another bandit or on the Zano DEX.

Burns​

Two kinds of burns exist in Bandit City:

  1. The cutoff burn. The one-time burn of 3,188,000 unclaimed giveaway tokens at the November 2024 cutoff. Done, on-chain, linked above.
  2. Perk burns. Once premium perks go live, BANDIT spent on them accumulates in a publicly visible collection wallet and is burned in published batches. Each batch comes with the transaction link and a short summary. This also covers older obligations: BANDIT collected from historical tool unlocks and quest submissions will be burned in the first published batches, each accounted for separately.

That's it. There is no automatic burn on transfers or fees. BANDIT is a standard Zano confidential asset, and every supply change is an explicit on-chain operation anyone can verify on the explorer.

  • Open the Zano wallet application
  • Create a new wallet and select "Restore from back-up"

For the OGs​

A small number of bandits paid 50 BANDIT to unlock the airdrop tool back when unlocking was a thing. Those payments are honored: OG unlockers get lifetime premium on the airdrop tool once its premium tier ships, plus a permanent OG badge. Their 50 BANDIT will be burned in the first published cleanup burn.

Why this model​

Bandit City runs free tools because that's what actually helps the Zano ecosystem. BANDIT stays what it has been since day one: a fair-launched community token you can spend on fun things, wear as a badge, and burn into the record books. Nothing to buy from us, nothing to believe in but the chain.
